Sudhiksha Srinivasan

Architectural Designer

Sudhiksha Srinivasan is an Architectural Designer currently contributing her talent to SmithGroup, one of the world’s preeminent integrated design firms, at its Chicago office. Licensed as an Architect in India, she brings a global perspective to the firm’s Health practice, where she focuses on evidence-based design for complex healthcare environments. She is recognized for her serendipitous discovery of Architecture’s role in Iatrogenic harm in hospitals, specifically the “deathly” corner rooms that exposed flaws affecting healthcare staff and patients. By shadowing professionals at major healthcare institutions, she curated an interactive hospital mock-up at a popular Chicago gallery to bridge design disparities with end-users, receiving positive feedback for revealing untapped design solutions.

Sudhiksha believes in tackling systemic design flaws with fresh, interdisciplinary perspectives, which she gains through diverse passions. Her love of journalism has led to interviews with influential design changemakers and crafting compelling architectural narratives and poetry that illuminate insights and engage the community. Her Master of Architecture (M.Arch) from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago and Bachelor of Architecture (B.Arch) from BMS School of Architecture in India, coupled with her globe-trotting adventures enrich her outlook with vibrant, international insights.

Her accolades include the Odyssey Travel Grant, Mencoff Internship Award, and 2nd-Year Graduate Scholarship Award from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago. As a 2022-2024 Women in Construction Ambassador for the Chicago Build Expo, she promotes industry diversity. In 2022, she was awarded the John G. Thorpe Young Professionals and Students Fellowship from the Frank Lloyd Wright Building Conservancy.
