Viking Longship
Viking Longships: A New Standard Defined
Prior to the introduction of the Viking Longships, many of vessels sailing Europe’s waterways were outdated, cramped and lacking hotel amenities. The launch of the Viking Longships ushered in a new era of modern river voyages.
Created by interior architects who have designed some of the world’s finest hotels, the signature Scandinavian design of the Viking Longships celebrates Viking’s Nordic heritage: clean lines, colorful woven textiles and light woods that evoke the original Viking explorers’ connection to the natural world. In the Lounge, guests can enjoy cocktails from a clinker-built bar inspired by the original Viking longships. Public spaces are light-filled, airy and quiet; staterooms feature thoughtful amenities like heated bathroom floors, anti-fog mirrors and luxury bed linens; and throughout each ship you will find great attention to detail in accents like leather handrails, hand-curated libraries and original Nordic artwork.
Hosting 190 guests in 95 staterooms, key features include:
- Patented design with three full decks in the front—maximizing space on board that otherwise goes unused on many competitor ships
- Aquavit Terrace, a revolutionary indoor/outdoor viewing and dining platform at the bow of the ship
- Two Explorer Suites at the aft of the ship, each featuring two full rooms and a private wraparound veranda with spectacular 270° views
- True two-room suites that feature a full living room with a veranda and full bedroom with a French balcony
- More full-size verandas and full-size rooms than on any other ship in Europe
- Organic Herb Garden on the Sun Deck, harvested for onboard cuisine throughout the journey
- Solar panels and energy-efficient hybrid engines that reduce vibrations for a remarkably smooth ride
