Casa Espri
This unique corner site situates along an extensive frontage with a challenging four metre slope. Naturally, this site came as an interesting design brief from the client. The vision was a one-of-a-kind iconic house in the area and a party haven for entertaining crowds.
At a pedestrian level, the base is layered with concrete, textured beige, and crisp white that builds privacy from passers- by. Perched on top of the base are large sweeping curves that float high in the air. The visual experience and street presence of these crafted curves is second to none and cements itself as a landmark on any approach to “casa espri”.
Immediately upon entry is the central courtyard featuring the relaxing pool and spa. This immaculate void catches the northern sunlight and brings it into the living space that opens out to the front courtyard. Opening both sides of the living space allows a beautiful cross-breeze on a warm summer’s day and provides ample space for guests to transition inside and out.
As the sun sets, guests make their way to the fully equipped rooftop tequila bar. The tequila bar connects to the sky terrace hidden among the sweeping curves of the house. It is here where guests will find a private chef cooking on the outdoor teppanyaki bench that also doubles as a booth for live singers, musical acts and DJs. The material backdrop pays homage to European nights with aged olive trees, beige travertines, and clean whites under the stars.
The core of “casa espri” is a sculptural staircase that ribbons vertically through the house and leads to the master bedroom. This retreat is a resort away from home dressed in warm timbers in an open layout. The ensuite complements this space decorated with a rustic travertine crazy paving.
