The Mirion AccuRad™ Personal Radiation Detector (PRD) is the first PRD purposefully designed for Emergency Responders by Emergency Responders.

We know, because we asked; the AccuRad™ PRD was developed in collaboration with law enforcement officers to enforce public safety and civilian defense against radiological threats. Its first-of-a-kind "on-the-move" localization algorithm enables intuitive source search with a built-in radar screen display, which indicates the direction of the radioactive source.

The device was designed to be easy to operate and requires minimal training. Based on feedback from emergency responders, we made the UI display large and minimal, with units spelled out instead of represented by cryptic symbols for straightforward readings in high-stress situations. Additionally, the two-display configuration incorporating an easy-to-read top-screen allows users to glance at a reading without removing the AccuRad™ from their belt or pocket for ultimate discretion. Helping reduce anxiety, panic, and fear in crowded public environments.

From the ballistic rubber over-mold for shock-resistance to easy-to-press buttons for one-handed measurements, the Mirion AccuRad™ protects those on the front lines in their fight against an odorless, colorless, otherwise undetectable enemy — radiation.
